PostScript to PDF Program.

Use dvipdfm instead of PostScript to PDF Program.

This option only affects the case when previewing pdf and the LaTeX code is not formatted with pdflatex.exe or a similar pdfTeX related implementation of LaTeX. Given this condition, the option means that SVAR will first transform the LaTeX formatted output into dvi and then let dvipdfm.exe convert the dvi-file into pdf.

Maximize PostScript and PDF viewer window.

This options is only available in the compiled version running on Windoze NT4/2000/XP (and 2003 Server). If selected it will attempt to maximize the window for the GSview and Acrobat (Reader) windows when sending PostScript or PDF files to these viewers.

Program Links

Programs needed to fill a fair share of the above list of options are available for free with TeX distributions such as MiKTeX and teTeX. For additional information visit their homepages:

MiKTeX

teTeX

On Windoze, you'll also find teTeX bundled with Cygwin: http://www.cygwin.com/

A good PostScript viewer on Windoze is GSview, which requires ghostscript. The latter program can also be used as a "PostScript to PDF program" and SVAR will automatically include the necessary switches if you have selected ghostscript as you PDF distiller application. As a PDF viewer you can use GSview or the Acrobat Reader. For additional information visit their homepages:
